Most benefit for cycling and walking
Almost one in three people changed their mobility behavior during the corona pandemic. This is the result of a survey by the German Energy Agency (dena). Cycling and walking have benefited the most in percentage terms, with 37 percent and 35 percent of respondents, respectively, saying they cycle or walk significantly or somewhat more often.

Cycling more popular than ever in the corona crisis
A total of 545,988 participants from 1,482 municipalities got on their bikes for Climate Alliance's international CITY CYCLING campaign, setting new records. Between May and October 2020, they covered more than 115 million kilometers, avoiding almost 17,000 tons of CO2 compared to car travel.
